Experts in Water Damage Restoration
Do you need water damage restoration? Call ECOS on 888-375-3267. When water strikes your property, do not make this epic mistake!
What would you do if your property is affected by water damage? What if a pipe failed in your property, leaking thousands of gallons onto the contents of your home, saturating irreplaceable documents, items and mementos?
How would you be able to handle a flood, or even worse a sewage back up if circumstances beyond your control lead to the infiltration of hazardous materials and toxic biomaterials?
Believe it or not, more than 50% of home and property owners first attempt to remediate the affected areas themselves!
This can lead to improper clean-up; causing mold growth, further spread of bacteria and significant cost requirements to restore the property. You see, when water damage hits, you have 24-48 hours to start the mitigation process before mold starts to colonize. After that, it can be very difficult to dry out the affected areas, and many times building materials that could have originally been saved, must be thrown out and restored.
At ECOS, we have seen home and property owners attempt to save money by treating water damage themselves, only to simply make matters worse. What could have been a cost similar to a small deductible on their insurance can turn into an epic mess.
That is why it is essential to leave any sort of water damage mitigation to the professionals. Servicing Aspen, Boulder, Denver, Steamboat Springs, Glenwood Springs and Colorado, we have been providing impeccable customer service since 2004. On-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we have dispatchers available to take your call no matter what time disaster strikes your property.

Categories of water, and what they can mean to your property
Not all water damage is created equal. Depending on the source, the size of the affected area and how long the water has been present within the affected areas can all contribute to the category of water type.
- Category 1
Most commonly referred to as “clean water”, Category 1 water would reside from broken pipes, sink or bathtub overflows, or an appliance failure contributed to the water line network.
Typically addressed immediately and the most inexpensive to restore, this water has been standing for less than 24 hours.
- Category 2
Moving into a more sickly environment, category 2 encompasses water types referred to as “grey water” or water that could cause discomfort if exposed. Once stagnant water has been present in an affected area for more than 24-48 hours, this category type requires a professional to mitigate and restore any affected areas. If left untreated for too much longer, the structure of the building could be compromised, and hazardous conditions could develop.
- Category 3
Primarily present during a sewage back up, or extremely unsanitary conditions, category 3 or “black water” contains harmful fungi, bacteria and other microbes hazardous to your health.
When this type of water is present, a professional is required to replace affected items such as carpet, flooring, drywall and interior contents with new, unobstructed building materials.
